Spotlight on...Native Energy and Renewable Choice
Native Energy and Renewable Choice are two US-based companies that allow consumers to buy into Renewable Energy Certificates
(RECs). RECs contribute to the development of renewable energy
projects throughout the US, including wind, solar, and biomass power
projects. They are a popular method to "offset" carbon dioxide
emissions (CO2) and a good way to increase demand for renewable energy.
From
Native Energy, we have greeting cards that support wind power projects
on Native American reservations and methane generation projects on
family dairy farms. Each card offsets 1 ton of CO2.
From
Renewable Choice, we have Individual and Family Wind Power Cards.
The Individual card represents a purchase of 250 kilowatt hours of
wind-generated electricity, while the Family card represents 750
kWh. This is the average amount of electricity used by an
individual/family in the US in a month. The cards are also
refrigerator magnets. A great way to support renewable energy,
and a unique educational gift!

Spotlight on...Furochic
The
Japanese have a long tradition of folding "furoshiki" cloths (large
square or rectangular pieces of fabric) to wrap, hold, or carry pretty
much anything smaller than the piece of cloth. Jenny Wren Paperie
had the great idea to bring this eco-friendly tradition to the west
with their beautiful Furochic gift wrapping sets. Each set
includes a 27" x 27" printed cotton cloth, a gift tag, a ribbon, and
instructions for 10 different folding techniques.
Start your own
tradition by wrapping your next gift in a Furochic--the recepient can
return it to you (hopefully wrapped around a different gift!)

company, they make great products that are: - Made with Organic Ingredients

No fair using it all yourself! You've got to save some for the baby! | |
