Stolen Bikes Boston
What at first glance might seem to be a particularly brazen fencing operation is actually a new effort by the City of Boston's bike program to help you find your stolen bike.  Register your bike at the site and then, if it's stolen, you can enlist an army of Twitter and Facebook vigilantes (as well as the police) to help you track it down.

Hello!

We hope everyone has taken some time to enjoy the summer.  We here at Greenward have made a few trips to the beach already, but in between swimming and application of sunscreen, we have found time to add quite a few new products to the store.  We haven't added everything to the web store yet, so some things (like organic cotton sheets and towels from Coyuchi), you will have to visit us in person to see for the moment.  Non-locals still have plenty of eco-friendly finds to choose from, though--see below!

Renovations Coming
The façade of our building is scheduled to be renovated sometime soon.  We don't know exactly when the work will begin or how the building will look afterward, but we have high hopes for a spruced-up appearance!  We plan to be open during the entire construction period.

Greenward's Web Store on Vacation
Our web store will be closed August 16-23.  You can still place orders, but they will not be processed or delivered until after August 23.  We will still, however, be open for business at 1764 Mass. Ave!

New Flip & Tumble Prints and Produce Bags

Drops Berrydots

Birds Produce bags

Flip & Tumble's 24/7 Bag is one of our most popular sellers due to its many clever design features: a single shoulder-length handle, a felt shoulder pad, a stretchy incorporated stuff sack, vibrant color combinations, and lightweight, durable fabric.  As if that wasn't enough, they have introduced five new printed bags.  In our view, the prints do a bit to defeat the purpose of the fold-up shopping bag--if the bag looks this good, why would you ever fold it up?  The printed bags are $11.99.  Original bags are $9.99.

Flip & Tumble has also introduced a line of reusable produce bags to free you from the tyranny of tearing bag after bag off that roll at the grocery store. Also a great choice to take along to the farmers' market. You get five (5) 12" x 14" polyester mesh bags in a set. The mesh has a tight but breathable weave and there is a drawstring at the top to keep things from escaping. They do double duty as travel and organizing bags.  Our first shipment of these bags has been rapidly depleted, but we have more on the way!  If they go out of stock, just check back in a few days to see if we've received the next batch.  $10.99 for a set of five.

New Taza Chocolate Flavors

Yerba Mate Cacao Puro

Our friends over at Taza Chocolate in Somerville have introduced two new flavors of their Chocolate Mexicano discs: Cacao Puro and Yerba Mate.  Cacao Puro is about the purest chocolate experience you will find outside of a cacao plantation--just stone-ground organic cacao beans and sugar.  Yerba Mate is wildly popular as a beverage in South America, and you will have an idea why once you try it combined with Taza's Direct Trade chocolate.  $4.50 for a package with two discs (2.7 oz).

To-Go Ware Classic Tiffin

Classic Tiffin

This is To-Go Ware's original tiffin design, a clever little food carrier with two separate stainless steel containers that clamp together like a portable tank to defend your lunch. Also includes a small "sidekick" container for condiments. $23.99.

Stainless Steel Straws

 Stainless Steel Straws
Stainless steel straws: simply stupendous for sipping soda, seltzer, or sasparilla.  Really, who doesn't love drinking with a straw?  More fun and fewer spills!  Now you can have the straw and forgo the waste.  These dishwasher-safe 18/10 stainless steel straws should last approximately forever under normal conditions (note: it looks like a bendy straw, but it's not really bendy unless you are very strong).  Set of 4 for $10.99.
